I spent two glorious days in Iceland, on my way to Sweden for a Profoto Lighting event.  This was one of the highlights of my traveling life.
Sometime after the sun dropped in Iceland, someone in the area started yelling, look at the sky. There was a strange, glowing cloud wiggling its way through the sky. I had no idea it was the Northern Lights. Until I took a photo of it. Then it lit up green and purple. I knew what I was seeing.
